Hiring an entertainer for your child’s birthday party? It can be difficult, given all of the available choices. There are many things to check when hiring entertainment for your event and I will share three important things to look for.

Communication

To start, you need an entertainer who is good at communicating. You will appreciate someone who is good at communication when you are making the last minute preparations and you have questions. Putting together an event is stressful enough, so the last thing you need is someone who doesn’t respond in a timely fashion.

Clear Expectations

As well as responding fast, a good communicator should give you a set rate for their service, and clear expectations of what to expect for that price. I always make sure that customers understand exactly how long my show will be, as well as the required space for setting up my stage, etc. There is nothing worse than delivering a service that is different from what the customer expected.

Reviews and Recommendations

Next, you should always check to see what others are saying about the entertainer’s service. Go to their website, google listing, facebook, etc. and check to see if they have any reviews. Chances are if most of the reviews are good, the performance will be pretty good. I am very proud to say that I have 26 five-star ratings on my google listing and dozens more on my Facebook page. It gives people confidence when they book me for a show.

Finally, look at their website and social media platforms to check for their level of organization and professionalism. The amount of time and energy spent on their public facing platforms gives you an idea of how meticulous they will be with their performance.
